Biography
Reginald Kingsford MBE (1891-1987) and Hugh Kingsford (1926-2004).

Reg Kingsford worked for Rose Frank of the Tyree Studio from about 1912 and then served in the army during WWI.

When Reg returned to Nelson in 1919, he bought the photographic business, Broma Studio, from A B Hurst who in turn had bought it from William Brown. His son, Hugh Kingsford, joined the business in 1942, a period when film was scarce and glass plates were being phased out.

Hugh later went into partnership with Bob Baigent from c1968-1984 and this business was known as Kingsford & Baigent. These images are also in the Museum's care.
