Full length studio portrait of a man. He stands with his hand on a pedestal holding a hat and his other hand in the pocket of his pants, holding his coat partially open. Studio props include a pedestal over which a hanging curtain is draped, objects on a chair, and carpet. The backdrop is neutral. A device, possibly an apparatus used by photographers to keep their subject still, is visible leaning against a side wall of the studio. The triangular base of a posing apparatus is visible behind the man's feet.
