Description
Full length studio group portrait of a Maitai 6-a-side Hockey team from 1907. There are six men in the photograph. Three men sit on chairs, two of the men sit on the outsides of the group framing the composition, and they hold hockey sticks, the base of which are on the floor, leading the eye down to a hockey ball on the floor. Three men stand slightly behind the seated men. Distinguishing features include the men’s formal attire. Studio props include boxes, hockey sticks, a ball, rugs and carpet. The backdrop is a painted mural including hanging curtains, and arched lead windows.
