Port Nelson

Photo Collection Reference Number

Description
Copy of an environmental photograph. The image is a scene from an elevated perspective looking north-east along Wakefield Quay to two wharves at Port Nelson, at low tide. In the foreground on the left is the shoreline and on the right a narrow road on the shoulder of a steep hill rising up the right edge of the picture. In the middle ground is Albion wharf with many buildings upon it. There are two ships moored at the wharf. In the middle distance is a second wharf, known as Government wharf. There are numerous ships moored around the wharf. In the background the Boulder Bank is just visible, which looks like a line upon the horizon, and beyond that are distant hills, and sky.
