Description
Oval wood chest with flat base and detachable lid. The lid has a carved wood handle at the centre. There are cut slots at the long ends of the lid. On the sides of the chest are are long wooden pegs with rounded tops, fastened to the sides of the chest with wooden nails. The long wooden pegs fit in the slots in the lid, the rounded tops serve to hold the lid closed firmly to the chest. The body of the chest is made with one slat of wood bent into an oval, joined at the front with waxed thread lacing.
