Description
Rectangular brown leather trunk with hinged lid. The lid is affixed to the trunk with a continuous external leather hinge, with two internal strap hinges. There are two vertical straps affixed to the front of the lid, and two vertical buckles and one horizontal buckle on the front of the trunk. Affixed to the middle front of the lid is a large flap which has a horizontal loophole along the bottom edge. Underneath the middle flap is a suitcase lock. There are two belt loops on front of the trunk, and two on the back of trunk affixed with studs. There is a tabbed handle with brass handle brackets on the sides of the trunk. The four corners of the base of the trunk are reinforced, and there are two wooden slats running horizontally across the width of the base. The interior of the trunk is lined with blue and white striped fabric. There is a fabric lined removable tray that nests in the the top of the trunk, with a leather strap handle at either side. The initials 'M.H.R' are painted on the top of the lid and sides of the trunk.
