Description
Wooden handle, mechanism and clacker attached within metal frame. Metal bolts fastened into wood and metal. "WB. LD 1918" engraved on the handle which suggests this was used in WWI trenches as a gas alert rattle. Original provenance notes it was used as a mechanical hand clacker for bird scaring.
