 Description
Handcoloured lithograph on cream paper with card backing. The print is a botanical illustration of part of a tree with fruit. Two green stems are depicted, one with fruit and one with alternate leaves. The green leaf blades are oval-shaped with pinnate venation. The long green oval fruit are depicted in a small cluster.

The print is titled "Corynocarpus laevigata (Karaka)” and “a laurel-like tree 40 feet high, with leaves 4-7 inches long. Fruit bright orange colour, pulp edible, the kernel poisonous until steeped for a long time in salt and water, formerly much used for food by the Maories. North Island". [sic]
