Description
Watercolour painting on rectangular sheet of brown paper, with a brown window mount, and backing. The painting is a botanical illustration of part of a shrub with flowers commonly known as Red Kowhai. Several green stalks are depicted with compound leaves. The silvery-green leaflets are small and elliptical, in a pinnate formation. There are clusters of solitary hanging flowers on green pedicels. The red flowers are bilateral with long, curved, pointed petals. Some flowers are depicted as long curved buds. There are leaves and flowers depicted in a wash of greens.

Cloth hanging loop at back.

The painting is marked "NiNA JONES" and "CLiANthus puNicEus"
