Thank you Karel for the information recorded above. This same photo is among a collection of images held by the descendants of the Drummond family of Dehra Doon, Riwaka. Our particular cabinet card records that Percy worked for John Ernest Drummond (1862-1915) and his wife Dinah (nee York).

This is Percy Richard Hall b. 2/2/1881 at Brightwater, my grandfather. We have other photos in the family, taken in the same clothing and accessories. He was a returned Boer War soldier and was later married to Elenora May Berkett on 21/6/1904 at Hope. They had 12 children, the youngest still in living in Richmond. They lived in Ranzau Rd East, Hope. He died 11/10/1958.
