Harry Washbourn's remarkable memoirs of life in Motueka and Golden Bay were originally printed as articles in the "Nelson Evening Mail" and later published in two volumes as "Reminiscences of Early Days" and "Further Reminiscences of Early Days". Enga Washbourn later drew upon these and other family records for her history of the Washbourn family, "Courage & Camp Ovens".
