Six days later - on 10 September 1915 - he was admitted to St John's Hospital - at Malta. On 8 October 1915 Private Lines - again - returned to the fight at Gallipoli Peninsula - where he remained until the evacuation of all allied forces - from Gallipoli Peninsula - on 26 December 1915. On 1 January 1916 Private Lines re-joined his Battalion - the Auckland Infantry Battalion - at Ismailia, Egypt. Two months later - on 21 February 1916 - he was admitted (sick) to the New Zealand General Hospital - at Cairo.
