Charles Organ married Sarah Bosher at Tarakohe on 22 April 1916 then embarked overseas in June of that year.. A son was born at the end of that year.

Possibly: Private Charles Thomas ORGAN (1888-1966) - and his wife Sarah Organ. NZEF Service # 15019 : Canterbury Infantry Regiment, 2nd Battalion, C. Company, 14th Reinforcements, NZEF. Born 17 October 1888 - at Takaka, Tasman District. Husband of Mrs Sarah Organ - (possibly the woman in photograph) - of Tarakohe, Golden Bay, Tasman District. Prior to enlistment for war service Thomas Organ was employed as a Cement Worker - at the Tarakohe Cement Works, Tarakohe, Golden Bay. Charles Organ enlisted for war service - on 6 March 1916 - at Trentham Military Training Camp, Wellington. He was 27 years of age. At enlistment he was posted as a Private with the Canterbury Infantry Regiment, 2nd Battalion, 14th Reinforcements, NZEF. On 26 June 1916 Private Organ left New Zealand for overseas war service - with the 14th Reinforcements NZEF. On 22 August 1916 he disembarked - from his transport ship from New Zealand - at Devonport, England. Private Organ served at France & Belgium (1916-1917 & 1918). On 12 October 1917 Private Organ was wounded in action at Passchendaele, Ypres, Belgium. On that one day - at Passchendaele - New Zealand suffered 2700 casualties. Private Organ was medically evacuated to England and admitted to Clapton Hospital - at England. He would later return to France - where he re-joined his Battalion in the field of action. On 19 December 1918 Private Organ left England - aboard SS 'Oxfordshire' - to return home to New Zealand. He arrived at New Zealand on 5 February 1919. Private Organ was discharged from the NZEF - on 9 March 1919. Charles Thomas Organ died - 30 October 1966 - at Titahi Bay, Porirua District, Wellington Region.
