Rifleman Walter George KERR (1888-1918). NZEF Service # 13040; Rifleman, New Zealand Rifle Brigade, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Reinforcements, NZEF. Walter George Kerr was born 7 May 1888 - at Wakefield, Nelson Region. Walter was the husband of Mrs Sorenson (formerly Kerr) - of Glasgow, Scotland. Walter Kerr enlisted for war service - on 13 December 1915 - at Nelson. Rifleman Walter G. Kerr was killed in action - on 28 March 1918 - at the Somme, France. Rifleman Walter G. Kerr is buried at Euston Road Cemetery, Colincamps, Somme, France (Grave ref: 11.C.3). Rifleman Walter Kerr is remembered at his hometown in New Zealand on the Wakefield War Memorial (1914-1918) - at Wakefield, Nelson Region.
