Description
Head and shoulders studio portrait of a man in military uniform. Thought to be Trooper Jack Hodgson (Serial No.7/673). On the Auckland War Memorial Museum Cenotaph database his next of kin is listed as Charles Hodgson (brother), Tarakohe, Nelson, New Zealand. Hodgson enlisted from Tarakohe, Nelson, New Zealand and served with the Canterbury Mounted Rifles during World War One. He embarked on 24 September 1914 from Lyttelton, Canterbury, New Zealand for Wellington, New Zealand. From Wellington he joined the Main Body and embarked on 16 October 1914 for Egypt. It is unknown whether he survived the war.
