Gardener.

Born in Windsor, Buckinghamshire, England. Emigrated to New Zealand in 1842 on the Bolton with his wife, Amelia, and three of their eleven children. Kidson helped crew the boat which transported Wakefield, Tuckett and company to the Wairau Valley in 1843.
By 1853, the Kidson family was living at Swiss Cottage, on freehold land in Brook Street. Kidson worked as a gardener for the resident magistrate, John Poynter, for several years. Kidson died at Victoria Heights, Nelson, on 29 September 1875.
