Sargood, Son & Ewen, Warehouse

Photo collection reference number

Black and white environmental photograph. The image is a scene of a large two storied building on the corner of two streets. A dirt road spans the width of the foreground space, and a power pole stands on the opposite corner of the street that the large building faces on to. In the middleground on the left is the side of the building. There is an entryway at street level and three small windows high at the top of the wall. A horse and cart with driver are on the road outside the doorway. The building is two-storied with quoins, and the wall panelling appears to run vertically rather than horizontally. The face of the building has eleven windows on the ground floor with a recessed entryway in the centre, framed by pilasters and a pediment. There are twelve casement windows on the second floor. In the background the building is flanked by other buildings.

Across the top of the building on the frieze is “WAREHOUSEMEN …GOOD. SON & EWEN. MANUFACTURERS.”
