Maker biography
Frederick Vincent Knapp (1863-1945) was a former school teacher Nelson Central Schools. After he retired in 1922 he became an amateur archaeologist and ethnologist and was a major collector of Nelson Maori artefacts. The collection was donated to the Cawthron Institute. See biography files.
