Shell, with an oval cameo carved in relief on a portion of the shell. When the shell is positioned on it's foot, the cameo is upside-down. The shell is a large whelk, apricot and cream in colour. The relief depicts a woman's head and shoulders in profile. Her hair is tied at the back of her head, and loose wavy wisps are depicted down her neck. She has a garland of flowers in her hair. She has a robe draped over one shoulder. The underside of the shell is glossy.
