Handcoloured lithograph on cream paper with card backing. The print is a botanical illustration of a fern. Several fronds are depicted at the top of the composition, descending from a central root. The green leaflets are fan-shaped on a long black frond axis, trailing down to a single small oval-shaped leaf at the terminal end.

The print is titled "Asplenium flabellifolium (Whip-cord)" and "Abundant in North and South Islands growing on Rocks and stony places, also in Australia and Tasmania"
