Object Detail

Handcoloured lithograph on cream paper with card backing. The print is a botanical illustration of part of a plant with flowers. Two green stems are depicted at the top of the composition, branching out and down, with alternate leaves on petioles. The green heart-shaped leaves have pinnate venation with wavy margins. The trumpet-shaped solitary flowers are on long pedicels. The joined white petals extend out from a cone-shaped base, with a long white stigma in the centre. Some flowers are depicted as white and green buds.

The print is titled "Convolvulus Sepium. (Panake)" and "A slender climbing plant growing over shurbs and small trees at the edge of the forest. Flowers white."
