Object Detail

Description
Pencil drawing on white rectangular sheet of paper on brown card backing. The drawing depicts the Collingwood / Aorere landscape. In the foreground is a large expanse of flat land with a river, centre left, curving back into the middle-distance. In the middle-distance slightly to the left of centre, two dwellings are depicted in front of a stand of trees. The trees extend in a band to the right edge, and another stand of trees is further back in the drawing on the left. The two stands of trees suggest a river runs between them. In the background are steep hills.

The drawing is titled “Aorere Hills Collingwood Jan 1864”.
