Object Detail

Handcoloured lithograph on cream paper with card backing. The print is a botanical illustration of parts of a plant with flowers. Two green branching stems are depicted with alternate leaves on long green petioles. The large oval leaf blades are green on top and grey underneath with pinnate venation. Clusters of flowers are at the terminal ends of the stems on long green stalks. The flowers have five round white petals with green centres on green pedicels. Some flowers are depicted as oval buds.

The print is titled "Ourisa macrophylla (Mountain Primula)" and "A lovely species from Mount Egmont range. It flowers in January. The flowers are pure white. Ruahine Range and Upper Wairua".
