Handcoloured lithograph on cream paper with card backing. The print is a botanical illustration of part of a Poroporo shrub with fruit. A brown stem is depicted with alternate leaves on petioles. The dark green leaf blades are lance-shaped and lobed with pinnate venation. Green oval berries hang in a many branching cluster on green stalks with green pointed sepals.

The print is titled "Solanum aviculare. (Poroporo)" and "A shurb very common in the North Island, quickly springing up wherever the forest has been cleared. Leaves vary from 4-10 inches long. Berry yellow, edible."
