Maker biography
The Stoke branch of the Women's Division of the New Zealand Farmers' Union was formed in 1934 by members of the Richmond-Appleby branch. The name was changed in 1946 when the Farmers' Union became the Federated Farmers of New Zealand. Nationally the name changed circa 2000 to "Rural Women" hence the new name "The Stoke Rural Women".; The Stoke branch of the Women's Division of the New Zealand Farmers' Union was formed in 1934 by members of the Richmond-Appleby branch. The name was changed in 1946 when the Farmers' Union became the Federated Farmers of New Zealand.
