Maker biography
John Paul Shelley (known as Paul) died about Aug 2007 aged 93 years. He was the son of Professor James Shelley, an important educationalist in NZ. Paul was based in Nelson in 1950-60, managing Nelson's electricity plant. He moved to Christchurch where he became the manager of the Municipal Electricity Department. Paul was a photographer and was married to Kathleen, née Joseph, a cousin of the donor. The Shelley's had two children.
