Archaeological investigations at Avoca Point, Kaikoura
Abstract: The archaeological investigation of a small Moa-hunter settlement site at Avoca Point in Kaikoura on the east coast of the South Island is described. The site, which has been registered as number S49/46, has an age of about 860 radiocarbon years B.P., and is in the same general area as a human burial found with a moa egg in the late 1850s.
